Upcoming Events
As part of my job at Viget Labs, I attend and speak at a number of events. Here’s what I have upcoming:
March
SXSW interactive
I’ll be attending SXSW for the first time this year – the panel picker selected an expanded version of my Mind Control talk, so I’ll be heading to Austin in March. SXSW is much less technical than most of the other events I attend, so I’m eager to see how the other half of the web world lives.
Pecha Kucha Raleigh
On March 23rd, I’ll be speaking at my second Pecha Kucha event, this time in Raleigh. I love the format (which is similar to Ignite), and I’m very excited that I’ll be able to finally give a talk on mastery, which I’ve been thinking about for a while now.
April
DevNation Atlanta
On April 3rd (just before my birthday!), I’ll be speaking at DevNation in Atlanta – this will be our first visit to Atlanta, and I’m excited to see how the technology and startup scene there has grown over the past few years.
IA Summit 2010
After returning from DevNation Atlanta, I’ll be doing a quick turnaround and flying out to Phoenix to give a joint workshop at the IA Summit. On the 8th, I’ll be presenting with Jackson Fox (one of the best UX people I know) on prototyping with code.
May
Red Dirt RubyConf
On May 6th, I’ll be heading to Oklahoma for the first time, to give a talk at Red Dirt RubyConf. I’ve been digging into the new generators and their underpinnings in Rails 3, and I’ll be giving a lightning tour of that in Oklahoma City. Look for Thor references, of course.
June
RailsConf
I won’t be speaking at RailsConf in Baltimore, but I will be there – I’m co-chairing the program with Chad Fowler. I’m very excited to be able to help shape the largest Rails conference in the world, and I’ll be working my hardest to make sure it’s one of the best yet.
Other
I’m always happy to speak, so feel free to contact me if you’d be interested in hearing me at your conference, user group, or other event.
